Getting Ready & Bridesmaid Gifts

Today's Wedding Wednesday post is all about my ladies.  I have the best group of friends in the world, and I am so lucky to have had them by my side throughout my wedding weekend.  They planned an amazing bachelorette party for me, and in turn, I made them get up at 5:30 am for hair and makeup the day of my wedding.  Meanwhile, I hear the guys slept in until 9:30 to leave by 10:30 - haha!

Grace, Mia, and Lauren of Blushing Brides were at our hotel at 6:00 am to start on hair and makeup.  Grace runs a fantastic company and I highly recommend her team to any brides in the Boston area!

To soften the blow, I obviously had a mimosa bar for my ladies and we had a lot of fun spending time together throughout the morning.

I had given the ladies their presents the night before so that we could all wear them the morning before the wedding.  I had so much fun shopping for my bridesmaids, flower girl, and mom.  I already shared what I gave them when I asked them to be in my bridal party, and I knew that I wanted to keep supporting small businesses through Etsy when I bought their gifts.  I tried to find items that were helpful for the wedding day as well as things they might use again.  Here's what they received at the rehearsal dinner:

Personalized hangers from Passion and Love
Floral Getting Ready Robes from Comfy Clothing
Tahitian Teal Earrings and Necklaces from Lacy Laura Gray
Plus an American Girl Dress from My Dressed Up Doll with custom matching teal sash

And then, it was time to put on my dress!

Last, but not least, I did a "first look" with my dad, and we were on our way to the ceremony!

Ruchi at Comfy Clothing was kind enough to send me an extra robe to give away to one of my readers.  While all of the robes my girls received were customized by size and height, this navy robe with teal flowers (style and color 307) is a "standard size" which will fit most women's sizes and will fall to about the knees on girls who are 5' 6."

The only person who lost 10 pounds on Thanksgiving

...is this girl.  Let the Thanksgiving recap commence:  Long story shot, I got a wicked bad sore throat on Tuesday night and stayed home from work Wednesday, but we drove to Hilton Head at night, anyway.  Thursday morning I was so bad that Mike had to take me to urgent care where my doctor gave me the award for the worst-looking sore throat of the month - yay! Two throat cultures later, he had no idea what was in the back of my throat but decided to treat me anyway, since it was Thanksgiving and I was in obvious pain.  I got a shot there and 3 prescriptions.  Over the next 4 days, I took something like 65 pills plus a bunch of Vicodin cough syrup.  In the midst of all that, it hurt so much to swallow that I didn't even get to enjoy my favorite holiday.  Oh well, at least we have plenty of leftovers, and Mike did an awesome job with our contributions to Thanksgiving :)

Yeah, I basically I jinxed myself every way possible by writing my Stuff (and th)ings post early on Monday.  Luckily, I felt well enough on Saturday to go out to the Caramel Apple festival and even better Sunday to play my favorite golf course in the world, Harbour Town.
So yeah, that was my Thanksgiving; and now it's Christmas season!! How did that happen?!

Let's Be Thankful Swap Reveal & Link Up

Thank you to each of the ladies who participated in the Let's Be Thankful Swap with Alex and me.  I hope you had a positive experience and enjoyed getting to know a new blog friend!  Today is the day to link up with a post about what you received.

BorrowedHeaven

I was paired with Kristina over at Pretty Rambles.  She and I were actually partners in a winter-themed swap 2 years ago, so it was so much fun to get paired with her again.  She absolutely, without a doubt, spoiled me!  She said that she wanted to include some things for Thanksgiving and some for Christmas, and I just love all of it!  Not to mention, most of it is from my favorite store on the planet: Bath & Body Works! Thank you so much for everything, Kristina!!!

Here's a little sneak peek of what I sent her.  Head over to her blog to read about everything!
