Peach Oasis (A Cocktail & A Giveaway!)

Peach season is almost here!  Spending my first summer in South Carolina last year, I definitely enjoyed my fair share of peaches.  Did you know that even though Georgia is the Peach State, South Carolina actually grows more than double the peaches than Georgia does each year.  Oh yeah, and it's our state fruit, too!

As you can guess, today's post is all about peaches.  I'm sharing my favorite peach cocktail, made with Charleston home-grown liquor, as well as a fantastic Etsy shop whose homemade pieces are the perfect backdrop for any spring or summertime party!

First, the cocktail:

Ingredients:
- 1/2 of a peach (sliced into fourths)
- 1/2 of a lemon (sliced into fourths)
- 4 mint leaves
- 3 oz peach moonshine (if you can't find Firefly moonshine, you can use 2 oz vodka and 1 oz peach schnapps)
- ice
- club soda

Directions:
1. Muddle together the peach, lemon, and mint
2. Add the ice and moonshine to the muddled mixture and shake
3. Pour out your shaken-up drink and top with club soda
4. Garnish with lemon, peach, and a cute straw
5. Enjoy!
FYI: this is not a super-sweet peachy drink; it's tart, refreshing, and full of citrus flavor.  If you want to make it sweeter, with more of a peach flavor, try just muddling the peaches and mint (no lemon) with a teaspoon of agave nectar, and add a small squeeze of lemon juice to the finished product.

And now that you're a little tipsy (oh, that's just me?), time for some fun!

Let me introduce you to the team behind that fantastic cocktail backdrop.  Love Garlands is a boutique Etsy shop sending happiness through handmade products from Los Angeles, California.  They sent me the Peach Oasis Tassel Garland, after which - you guessed it - I created my new cocktail!  I chose the small tassel size (8-9 inch), but there is also a larger (13-14 inch) size available.
To share the love, one lucky winner will receive a $50 Etsy shop credit to Love Garlands.  You can enter below with the Rafflecopter widget today through May 18th.  Even if you don't win the giveaway, Love Garlands still wants all of my readers to feel like winners, so they are offering 10% off all orders with the discount code HEAVEN.

Silver and white tassel garland would get the most use. And nothing better than a fresh Georgia peach. :)
