The Pioneer Woman is My Spirit Animal and Other Things I Actually Made from Pinterest

I feel like I always say it, but it really has been a long while since I did one of these posts... over 9 months, actually.  I did post about Pinterest a couple months ago, but not too many successes there.  As you can probably guess from the title, I've been loving me some Mrs. Drummond recently.  Her show is my favorite on weekend mornings, and you have to follow her on Pinterest and IG!  You can follow me on Pinterest, too :) and see all the recipes I've actually made here.

Soul Sweet Taters: Way back over Thanksgiving I made these beauties, and even though I didn't get to eat a whole bunch of them, they were AMAZING.  This time, we only added 1/2 cup sugar, and next time we might try taking the sugar completely out of the potatoes themselves - they really don't need it!

Aunt Trish's Salad Dressing: This recipe is so easy and delicious.  I've been all about salads since the new year and this is a nice way to switch it up from my normal olive oil/balsamic vinegar mixture.

Apple Peanut Butter Delights: On Friday night, after I made BBQ Chicken French Bread Pizza (more below), I decided to make these for dessert.  Yeah... don't broil them for 3 minutes.  They burned.  There was also too much peanut butter (gasp!) and it was all just a little too thick.

And my non-Pioneer Woman finds...

Salted Caramel Bark: Over Christmas vacation, we did a Make, Bake, and Buy Secret Santa with my college friends.  I used Pinterest to search for what to bake for my recipient.  Luckily, she has over 3,000 food pins, so I had a lot from which to choose.  Oh, and I also had to find a recipe that wouldn't crush on a plane since we were getting in at 12:30 am Saturday morning and the party was 2 hours away at 2:00 Saturday afternoon.  I found this bark that looked fairly portable and delicious.  I've now learned I'm not great at making caramel and it ended up tasting more like praline than caramel, and I added pecans instead of pretzels, just because, and it was really good!

BBQ Chicken French Bread Pizza: On Friday, Jillian posted a few recipes that she wants to add to her rotation, and I found myself buying French bread on my way home from work, and the finished product was on IG a few hours after that.  We love anything BBQ chicken: quesadillas, nachos, dip, even just pulled from the CrockPot (I need to post recipes for the rest, soon.).

Mike always sends me the best Buzzfeed articles!  To be honest, he's awesome at finding us great recipes to make, too.  This one was the perfect combination of the two.  Rachel lived completely according to Pinterest for a week.  We tried two of the recipes she suggested:

The Best Chewy Cafe-Style Chocolate Chip Cookies: They lived up to their name, for sure: AMAZING.

Easy Beef and Broccoli: Mike used flank steak, and the beef was a little tough, but we LOVED the sauce!  We actually used all the leftover sauce (there was a lot) to marinate chicken and it was delicious, too.
