Music Monday

I forgot how much I loved doing Music Mondays!  Since last week gave me some great soundtracks for the week - I thought it would be fun to do it again... aaaaand getting even more eclectic this week!

Since I got back from Nashville [and after going to the Opry] I have definitely gained an appreciation for country music.  Josh Turner was GREAT in concert - so energetic [and cute]!  The only past country experience I had was hearing it blasted up the stairs from my roommate's room.  I had heard this song from Jeff's room before, but hearing it in concert was so fun!

On our way home from Mike's parents' house this weekend, this song came on the radio.  We rocked it out and even waited in the driveway, jamming, until it was over.  Flashback to high school [well, college for him ;) ]!

I feel like I should HATE Flo Rida... don't know anything about him but his songs just tend to bug me.... except for this one. Oh my gosh, so catchy.  Sorry if you're ashamed of me now haha.

I used to be an American Idol junkie!  I even went to their concerts after the first couple seasons... but late in high school I stopped watching it.  Phillip Phillips is the first "Idol" I've liked in a while.  I heard him perform this song acoustically on Elvis Duran a month or so back and fell in love!

Sunday Social: Spring

1. What is your favorite thing about Spring? Flowers, warmer weather, golf season, no snow, short sleeves, flip flops, sunshine, windows down in the Jeep, daylight savings time... I can keep going all day!

2. Favorite kind of flowers to grow or receive? I love receiving potted flowers I can replant [I love giving them too because I feel like I'm giving a more long term gift], especially daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths.

Flowering gifts /// Tulips in front of a building at my college - they were even our school colors :)

Our gardens from last year

Last weekend and this weekend: I can't believe it snowed on our poor little sprouts!

3. What is your favorite nail polish color? I'm loving coral, orange-y nail colors lately.
Like this one, "Are We There Yet" by OPI

4. What is your favorite outdoor activity? Well, besides golf, lawn games for sure: tailgate toss, ladder golf, washer toss, etc - heck even just flip cup or something played outside in the lawn!

5. Do you have any fun Spring plans? In the spring and fall I work on Sundays, teaching 5 & 6 year old golf classes, so we don't plan too much, but I would like to get our yard and gardens all ready for summer!
How cute are they???

Easy How-To: Jello Shots

Really, this doesn't need too much of an explanation, it's a very simple recipe.  However, I like to think I've perfected it since my friends ALWAYS ask for them at parties haha.  They are delicious and there are so many flavor options.  Hopefully some of you, who enjoy alcohol, have probably enjoyed these before, but if not - you definitely should give them a try!

Ingredients:
- 3 oz packages of your favorite Jello gelatin dessert
- Your favorite alcohol in the freezer [I use vodka, but you could use rum or tequila]
- Boiling water
- Small plastic cups

Directions:
- Choose your favorite flavor combinations.  I like to make batches with 6 oz of Jello so I use 2 different 3 oz packages.  It adds more flavor with two different kids.
- Empty the dry Jello into a large bowl and mix it together.
- Add 1 cup of boiling water to the dry Jello and mix
- Once completely dissolved, add 1 cup of the cold alcohol [replacing the cold water].
- Separate into the small plastic cups [for 3 oz cups, fill about halfway], place on a cookie tray, and put into the refrigerator for a few hours to harden.
- Enjoy!
Jello flavors

Two flavors each paired with a flavored vodka

I made four flavors for Mike and Dave's party.  The first two flavors are the types of jello and the last flavor is the type of alcohol.
