A Peek Around

One of my New Year's Resolutions this year was to grow my blog.  Growth isn't just about making this blog bigger, but also, and more importantly, making it better.  To me, making my blog better is making it more meaningful and personal.  So, that's what I'll be using my "coffee talk" label for throughout the year.  Here's a little peek around what's going on in my life as well as a few recent photos around our apartment...

For the second year in a row, I'm planning a Valentine's Day surprise for Mike.  He started using Open Table and sent me restaurant ideas last week, but whoops, we waited too long and none of the ones we liked had openings after 4:00 pm.  So, we both started coming up with ideas (he didn't have any lol), so he told me to just go with mine.  He is definitely going to like this even more than last year.
Mike and I joined a kickball league!  We had our first game on Tuesday.
I started PT this week for tendinitis in my shoulder.  Back in New Hampshire after Christmas, I started having this shooting pain in my upper arm whenever I twisted it (putting on a jacket, turning a doorknob, even driving).  I have radial and ulnar nerve damage in that same arm, so my doctor isn't sure if they're connected, but I'm just excited to get full range of motion back in my arm.
I FINALLY finished my cork M and Mike got me a D and T for Christmas.  (Did I ever mention that we have the exact same initials?? MDT!).  Our reception venue saved all the corks from our wedding wine and champagne, so I made the T out of those as well as the champagne we passed around the limo and the Moey Chambin (anyone, anyone?) we drank the night of our wedding.
We've received a few wedding gifts recently from friends and family, and I could not be more in love with them!  That first photo in this post of the serving tray is even personalized on the back (thanks to one of my college golf teammates for that!!).  The verse (still needs to be hung) and magazine tub (supposed to be a drink tub - and will be for parties :) ) from a couple of Mike's aunts fit perfectly in our apartment, too.
I decided to run in the 2016 runDisney Princess Half Marathon.  Now that we're less than 6 hours from Disney, why not, right?! I'm sooo excited to add to the "bling" collection.
And lastly, Mike's dad is here to visit!  This is the first time he's visited Charleston since we moved here, and we are so excited to show him around our new home.  Dinners out, distillery tours, and plenty of walks around downtown and the Greenway are at the top of the list.  Anyone have any other touristy suggestions?

Love the idea that you kept all the corks from your wedding day! I have kept a bunch over the years but I didn't think of that. So sweet. Hope the PT will be helping with your shoulder pain:(
