Wedding Wednesday Continues: Entrances & First Dance

Happy Wedding Wednesday!!  It's been a pretty crazy week so far, over here; we're currently packing for our honeymoon while trying to get over a couple of sinus infections.  Last time I left off with wedding recaps, I shared the little details around our reception - now it's time to get the party started with the entrances.  While Mike chose all of the music for the ceremony (so far out of my league - haha), he didn't feel like he was "tuned-in" enough with pop music to make the entrance/dance choices, too.  Future brides, do you have any idea how many song lists there are for receptions?  Entrances, first dances, parent dances, cake cutting... the lists go on and on.  We had no idea where to start!  Luckily, we stole got a little help from my 2014 wedding buddy, Liz with the entrance song.  I had only heard Enrique Iglesias's "Finally Found You" once before (my entrance into Liz's wedding), and I fell in love with it!  It's the perfect upbeat love song for a wedding, so we used it for our parent/bridal party entrance song, too.

As always throughout the wedding, our flower girl rocked it, and our bridal party were hysterical on their way in (just another reason to make sure your girls and guys meet before the wedding - no awkward wedding moments here!).  But before all of that, my parents then Mike's dad and grandmother entered first, and they were cuter than ever.

For our own entrance, I chose two songs and made Mike make the final decision. (We are the most indecisive couple ever!)  The first was This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole, but he said that reminded him of the eHarmony commercials (and me of The Parent Trap), so we went with the other choice: Carl Carlton's Everlasting Love.  Truth be told, we did get both of these choices from one of those never-ending entrance song lists.  I can still remember the moment the door flung open to "open up your eyes, then you realize, here I stand with my everlasting love..."

We went right into our first dance, which luckily we also had some help with.  I struggled for weeks and weeks with our first dance song, and made the stress well-known at my office.  One day, my co-worker came in, so excited that she had heard the best song ever for us on the radio, and boy was she right!  These Are The Times To Remember by Billy Joel was the perfect love song for us: remembering to cherish every moment we spend together while also looking forward to the future, "so stay with me, baby, I've got plans for you!"  After a couple of minutes, our bridal party joined in dancing with us, and it was so special (and took all of the eyes off of us a little).

After a big group hug, we all found our seats, and it was time for speeches!  I'll be back in a couple of weeks with those!  Don't worry, I won't leave you hanging for Wedding Wednesday next week while we're on our honeymooon.  I have something special planned that I really think you'll enjoy!

Thanks so much for reading, and now it's your turn.  Share a wedding-inspired post with us!  Use the button, if you'd like, and please link back to my or Macy's blog so that others can join in Wedding Wednesday, too!

Another beautiful recap, girl!! It made me wish I could've been there in person to celebrate with you and Mike! :) Hope those sinus infections ease up soon, and that you'll both bounce back feeling your best for your upcoming honeymoon! ;)

The group hug at the end is perfect. We are going back and forth on introducing our bridal party, or just the two of us. That will likely be a last minute decision haha. Enjoy your honeymoon, I can't wait to see pictures!!! Happy Wedding Wednesday :)

Love how you had your wedding party join in with you. I was a little stressed about all eyes on us for so long as well. Definitely a great solution! Have fun on your HONEYMOON :)

We haven't come up with an entrance song yet, but now that you've mentioned it I'll have to look at a list of popular ones. I have no idea where to even start. Have so much fun on your honeymoon!

I didn't pick music for our parents and bridal party to walk in to. It was awkwardly quiet, haha.

These are so fun! And your hubby had me laughing with the eHarmony commercial song. I'm like you-- The Parent Trap.

Is that your sister with her back to the camera in the 10th photo down (or does girl friend just have your profile)!? Love the dancing photos. So gorgeous!

Now I have that in my head! Thisi will be, an everlasting love!!

Ha! I never even thought about the eHarmony commercial. We used This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole as our recessional song! I guess it was ok though since we did meet online!

Couldn't link up yesterday, it's been so busy with the final weeks leading to our wedding! Love these photos and the songs you chose for the reception! I let Jose choose all of the songs, he's much more music savy than I am... I am very happy with his choices and love every single one! Can't wait to share, after our wedding! Enjoy your honeymoon!

We made our first song short so we wouldn't have all eyes on us for toooo long, but I like the idea of having the wedding party join in for that reason. Enjoy your honeymoon!
