Springtime Green Tea Hand Scrub

I am so happy to see that spring is here, but changing seasons always wreaks havoc on my skin.  Going from winter to spring, my skin is still in hibernation mode, so I'm all about getting in moisture and exfoliating away those dead winter cells.  My mistake, however, is usually exfoliating too quickly and causing my skin to dry out even more.  I finished using my Pumpkin Spice Latte Sugar Scrub a few weeks ago, so since then, I've been looking for a new formula to make my hands spring-ready.  This time, I created a sugar scrub formula that's a combination of half white and half brown sugar, which is a softer grain, so not to exfoliate too strongly.  This was also the first time I used green tea in a scrub and decided to give it a try because of its ability to flush out toxins, heal scars, and reduce inflammation.  I fully admit that this is not my prettiest scrub to date, but I absolutely love the way it smells.  I use it every night before bed so that the benefits of each ingredient can be absorbed into my hands as I sleep.
All you need to do is mix the following ingredients together:
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons used green tea grounds
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon lemon extract
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon honey
5-7 drops green food coloring (optional)
This DIY was perfect for all the leftover grounds from one of my favorite teas from the Charleston Tea Plantation.  It also has me thinking about my favorite "green" event starting TOMORROW - The Masters.  We won't be making it to the tournament like last year, but we will certainly be watching (and celebrating).

I need to make this scrub! I never thought to add brown sugar because the first time I made a sugar scrub, that sugar is quite the exfoliant!

Oooooh so cool! Every time you've posted a scrub I've bookmarked it with good intentions to make it, but then failed on that. I need to get with it!

I need to do this! It's gotten really cold here again (currently snowing, ew) and my hands are super dry. It may be April, but I want to try the pumpkin spice one because yum, ha!

I don't know it would work out, but a scrub with berries would smell wonderful.
