Lately & Weekending

Good morning!  First of all, Happy Belated Mother's Day this weekend to my #1 lady!  I'm sorry that Mike and I couldn't be with you, but we can't wait to see you next month!  Thank you for being such a fantastic role model for me over the years.
Now here's what we've been up to: We finished another puzzle: hot sauce bottles.  It was perfect for Cinco de Mayo.  This one was only 500 pieces, but we have another 2000 one on the horizon!
Mike and I have been all about comedy lately.  We went to see Amy Schumer last week - she is HYSTERICAL - if you have the chance, go see her.  Now this week, I bought literally the best seats in the house to see Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally in August.  Like, not joking, we'll literally be sitting in THE FRONT ROW.  I really hope that they will pick on one of us - hahaha!
I picked up another fantastic cookbook through Blogging for Books this week, too: Around the Fire.  Grilling is my absolute favorite way to cook during the summertime. Typically, we are hamburgers and hot dog people (with the occasional barbecue chicken breast), but this book has really opened my eyes! Some of the recipes were a little too much for me with some ingredients I can't see myself using, but there were still recipes I want to make. Empanadas - yum! The book itself is beautiful with vivid photographs and easy-to-read text, It would make the perfect gift because it's so comprehensive with a section on grilling tools, tips, and how to most effectively use your grill. Whenever I make a trip out to Portland, Oregon, you know I'll be stopping at Greg and Gabrielle's restaurant, Ox!

We had a super fun blogger event last Thursday at an adorable jewelry shop: Candy Shop Vintage.  They are the makers of Charleston Rice Bead jewelry, and I was so excited to get a strand for attending the event as well as a couple more thanks to a gift card burning a hole in my pocket!
Lastly, I'm excited to finally recap my first blog conference this week! I've written a couple of reviews about The Southern C Summit I went to at the end of April and can't wait to share those with y'all.

Linking up with Biana today!

I haven't been to a comedy show in years...like back when Dane Cook was relevant years ago. Front row at Nick Offerman & Megan Mulally would be a blast!

It sounds like you've been doing lots of fun things! :) I hope you have a great time at the comedy event that you're going to.

Maybe on one of my trips to Charleston, we could meet up for coffee and shopping or something. I would love to meet you! Thanks again for replying back to me when I sent you the e-mail about Charleston a year ago. While I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to live in Charleston, I love going there and reading your blog and other blogs from people in Charleston!

I hope that your mom had a very wonderful Mother's Day and I hope you have a great visit with her!

Have a great week!
