A Family Weekend

For the holiday weekend, Mike and I took an impromptu trip to the Tampa Bay area to be with family.  My uncle passed away last Thursday after a short battle with an extremely fast-moving form of cancer.  Both of my cousins from New England came down to be with my aunt, so Mike and I decided to hop in the car to spend the weekend with family.  I'm so glad we did.  My aunt and uncle's house is right on a channel near St. Pete Beach, so we spent tons of time just sitting and talking on their porch, fishing off the dock, and, of course, playing and swimming with the kids.
Our ring bearer and the girls have gotten so big!!
My cousins
Mike - the best swim teacher ever!
Then, on the way back, in the words of my husband, "if we're this close to Disney, we might as well at least stop by and say hi!"  You know I'm not going to object to that.  Fourth of July is one of the absolute busiest days of the year in the parks because of the amazing fireworks at night, but luckily, Disney Springs was not crowded at all.  We walked around, listened to some live music, and shared an amazing Ghiradelli sundae.

Oh man, I can't believe Disney Springs wasn't busy on the 4th! We thought about heading down there and hanging out for the day but figured it'd be packed. Glad you had such a great weekend! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

My condolences for your loss! Kyle lost his uncle last Thursday too, definitely a rough start to a weekend. I'm glad you were able to see your family even if the reasoning was sad

Despite the circumstances, I'm glad you were able to have an enjoyable weekend with family. Besides a name change, anything else different about what will always be Downtown Disney?

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. I'm sure your aunt and cousins were so happy to have your company. St Pete Beach is one of my favorite Florida beaches and it looks like you caught some beautiful sunny weather and sunsets at night.
