Birthday Wish List

The last weekend of summer - please say it isn't so!  Luckily, it will still feel like summer for at least a few more weeks here in Charleston.  I feel like this year is flying by, and soon it will be October (aka my birthday month)!  I still think I say I'm 26 when people ask my age.  28, Meg, you're a couple weeks away from being 28.  I am terrified to say that this will mean that I'm officially in my late 20s. OY.

I always like creating little wish lists, usually with items that are just that, WISHES... aka completely out of my budget.  Honestly, I feel like my list hasn't changed a whole lot from last year... my collage-making skills just might have gotten a little better ;)
First and foremost, I think it's pretty obvious that I'm looking for things for our home. When we yell at the tv watch football, the whole first floor echoes - haha!  We haven't hung anything on the walls yet, and I would really love to get some local photography for our living room.  I first found that amazing three-panel Angel Oak by Mike Nocher Photography at the City Market, and I thought we had made our decision...until we went to the Farmer's Market last weekend and discovered a vendor whose work we had never seen before: Jason Baxley.  He does those 360 degree panoramas, and I have never seen anything like them before.  How cool would it be to hang four: sunrise, mid-day, sunset, and night from different places around the city on one wall?

I also want to make the living room even more cozy as fall approaches.  I've always been intrigued by blanket ladders, and I love that navy tassel throw to put on it!  Add a couple more throw pillows, preferably a pineapple and one from Kate Spade, and I'm ready to watch ALL THE FOOTBALL.

Style-wise, I'd love a Lilly dress to transition to fall, and I think it's pretty obvious that I'm loving everything navy right about now.  That rose gold Kendra Scott necklace would look great with it, and a pretty camera strap (so I'm more likely to bring my camera on adventures) would be so fun!  Even though those striped flats might not exactly match, at least they're still navy!

Last but not least, the old standbys: Starbucks gift cards and Essie.  I think I might be one of the last blogger holdouts on the Essie "gel," but especially with darker colors like Twill Seeker and Wrap Party 420, I'd love to give it a try.  Why is it that dark, bold colors always seem to chip sooner and look awful after two days?! Haha!

What are you lusting over right now?  Any fall items on your wish list?

I think after 26 was the year I started to be like wait, how old am I?? The navy throw looks so nice and I haven't tried any of the Essie gel polishes yet either, though I think I'll end up caving soon!

Goodness, that three panel Angel Oak picture is gorgeous!!! I always forget about how cool the three panel pictures can be... Freddie and I gave one to my sister for her high school graduation. I need to remember about them more!

Now that being said those panoramas are awesome...

Very fun wishlist! I am 32, and sometimes when people ask, I say, "I'm 28", and it's not to lie about my age, I legit forget! I am glad I am not the only one. I love the camera strap!

I've been asking my husband for weeks about the idea of building a blanket ladder for our living room very soon. I would love to have one! I think that's my #1 on your list but those Angel Oak prints might be a close second... :) Happy Weekend!

My stepmom commented that my parents want to buy us stuff for the house for Christmas, etc so we've started our list too.

I haven't done the Essie gels, I don't have any interest at this time.

I love birthday time!

Getting & giving them... Starbucks gift cards never go out of style.

I have 4 cameras & only 1 pretty camera strap - I need to find some more!

I love those photos! I can't believe I'm just 5 weeks short of 28. Seriously...when did this happen??

Oh I totally feel you on the whole forgetting I'm not 26 years old anymore. I just turned 28 too and it's crazy to think I'm this close to 30. I love all the items on your list and agree, nowadays I'm more interested in getting stuff for our home than for myself, but I of course never mind anything beauty related lol. I have yet to try the Essie gel thing, but I'm curious so I may be picking some colors up and trying it out!

I've already started thinking about my birthday wishlist and it's not until December! lol Always good to plan ahead right? I think some things on this list are totally budget friendly and my favorite are the KS necklace and pineapple pillow. I think that would look super cute in your new home.

I had actually never heard of blanket ladders before this post, but they seem like a useful idea. One of our dogs will drag them off the couch sometimes. (I wouldn't mind her lying out on it, but not on the floor.)

I would LOVE a blanket ladder! Actually, Macy gave me this really cool ladder from my bridal shower, so I might use that...
