Cousin [and Food] Weekend

Friday night, Mike and I drove across the state to see our cousin Sean's band.  They were amazing and we even got to hear him sing a song in the first set!  The bar also had ah-mazing sweet potato fries, buffalo chicken wraps, and even Stella Cidre on tap!

Saturday I had to work an open house, but luckily, Mike and one of our closest friends joined me.  Afterwards, we played on the simulator [PGA National and Torrey Pines] and Sadie's mom brought us homemade empanadas.  I wish I could give you this amazing recipe, but you're just going to have to take my word for it.  On our way home, we got a text from Sean asking if we wanted to go on a double date.  Heck yes!!! First, we went ice skating [FYI - Mike is really good and I didn't even fall] and then we had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.  Have you ever tried their fried mac and cheese?? You should!

dates :)

Sunday morning began with kitty snuggles and cheesecake for breakfast [we were obviously way too full for it after dinner the night before but still had to get slices].  We drove up to Massachusetts in the afternoon to meet my cousin Jason's new twin girls!!! Ava Emanuela and Sofia Elizabeth were born on December 30th!  For dinner, we went to our favorite dinner with our family friend for "Christmas!"  She's basically family, so we'll call her a cousin for the purpose of this post!  We all watched The Globes together and she made an amazing rum cake!! Maybe I can convince her to guest post with it one of these days :)
Why yes, this is how Roxy sleeps next to me in bed...

So yeah, I would say the the title of this post is pretty accurate... lots of cousins and lots of food!

Don't forget, today is the very last day to sign up for the Sweetheart Swap!  If you've already signed up, your matches will be emailed to you in a couple of days!

Fun fact: I also have twin cousins (a boy and a girl), one of which is named Sophia. If they ended up being two girls instead then the other twin would have been named Ava!
