Pre-Ceremony Portraits

Welcome back to Wedding Wednesday!  I swear, one of these weeks we will actually get to the wedding ceremony - but not today!

Mike and I decided that we wanted to wait until I was walking down the aisle to see each other on our wedding day.  (Plus, I'm a big fan of this ecard and I wanted to see Mike cry like a baby. Nice, right?)  I somehow managed to keep my dress a secret from him, so the only thing he had seen as my trial run hair and makeup.

So, after we all got ready at the hotel, we loaded up in the limos (separately, duh).  Thanks bridesmaids and groomsdudes for planning that one well.  We decided to do our separate bridal party and family shots before the wedding to speed up the timeline after the ceremony.  It worked out really well and we got some really nice photos on different parts of the campus.  I was at the pink X below and Mike was at the blue X.  The arrow was how we drove in, and the big circle is where the chapel is - see how well we did avoiding each other?!

Now for the guys...
Apparently they were told to attempt a "serious/badass" shot... yeah, that's not my husband haha!

We both really wanted photos with each bridesmaid/groomsman individually.  My favorite is definitely the bottom.  This is the only photo we have of just James and Mike haha!  A close second is definitely the bromance photo shoot with his best man, below.

Our ring bearer was just not having it on the wedding day and this is literally the only photo we have of him not kicking or screaming.

Then, of course, the family shots!

And back around the other side of the building: the girls!

Then, it was time for a little spinning and a walk to the chapel (once the guys had gone inside, of course)!

Now it's your turn, link up with me and Macy with any wedding-inspired post:

I think it's cool of you that you guys waited to see each other until the actual ceremony. I don't think I am just for the sake of time and pictures because I want to be able to fully enjoy all of the wedding. I love the places that you took pictures. There is a university right next to where we are getting married and I'm thinking about taking pictures there because I love the look with the buildings and such, we'll see! Thanks for the link up :)

SO gorgeous!! You look beautiful, the colors are so pretty, I love it all. I especially love that you didn't see each other until the ceremony. That's the only way to do it! ;)

Its always so exciting to keep everyone separate... but I will say, as a wedding photographer, its a tad nerve wrecking. I think I ask 1,000 times, "Where is the groom?" :)

Love this! We waited until I was walking down the aisle for Isaiah to see me for the first time, too. I loved it and even though pictures took a little while after the ceremony, we had snacks at the reception for people to eat to tide them over. Isaiah had to wipe away a tear or two when he saw me, which of course made me emotional, and I wouldn't change a thing about the way we did it!

Lovely photos!! We decided to do a first look even though it took a bit of convincing on my end. But it's a good thing we did cause we still took a million family photos after the wedding that caused us to get to the reception site a little later than we would have preferred.

You were such a beautiful bride! Love the bridesmaid dresses, especially the color. We did a picture with each member of our wedding party, too and I'm so glad we did! I framed them and gave them as gifts to each of my girls afterwards :)
