Outfit of the Month: Accessorizing Solids

It might be October tomorrow, but it does not feel like fall yet in Charleston.  It's still in the mid 80s most days, but even more than that, it's HUMID.  I'm trying so hard to make my fall wardrobe work, and a couple of days I've been adventurous and wore ankle pants, but by lunchtime, I was sweating.  Instead, I'm trying to find new ways to spice up my shorts and summer tops.  After you've worn the same things to work for 6 months, you need to do something different, right?  Typically, I don't wear solids on solids and try to put in some type of pattern somewhere, but like I said, I need to try something new.  I equally love these J.Crew shorts and these comfortable v-necks, so I thought it'd be fun to put a spin on them as I keep wearing them through the end of September.  Two things that will make any outfit pop?  Jewels and Jamberry wraps.

Here's what I put together:

This was my thought process while reading this post: "ohhh I love that necklace, ohhh I love your nail wraps, ohh I love those earrings!" So basically I love everything, haha.

Love these fun accessories! And I hear ya on the humidity, usually it breaks by now so hopefully the end is near. It's funny because down here we wear sundresses and shorts the majority of the time, but up north we wore pants and long-sleeves most of the time. It's a nice switch :)

I love this! Mostly because it makes me feel better than I'm still wearing shorts and it's supposedly "fall" ;)

I love accessories because most of what I wear are solids! I need to try Jamberry. My friend sells it and I'm obsessed with the football ones.

I'm so ready for cooler weather.. I feel like last year at this time it was NOT this hot. I've been meaning to buy new pairs of shorts but didn't know where to go, I completely forgot about J Crew =)

Black tops and bright necklaces are my favorite. With all of the rain we have had this week, I do still wish I was wearing summer clothes. Wet jeans are the worst!

I love your accessories, especially those earrings. It's a great way to spice things up. You really can't go wrong with a solid shirt. Are you wearing Jamberry's? I have a bunch of coworkers who sell them, they're so fun!

Love! I know its tough when you live down south. Don't worry, it does get cooler:) I had a warm time in Florida until Nov-Feb and even then you can get ice. Yuck.
I started doing Project 333 (loosely might I add), but I felt like it has helped me not hoard clothes, buy nicer things, and learn to accessorize better. Doing this while pregnant has been a breeze since I had to buy all new clothes.
