Weekend (and Week and Life) Update

Happy Monday, friends. I'm back from a week-long trip to the Northeast where we watched friends get married and spent time with all of our family. As I may have mentioned, we are going to 6 weddings this year (invited to a 7th early in the year we couldn't attend), and it's been a whirlwind. This time, we had back-to-back weddings in New Jersey and Connecticut, so we figured we would just stay up there in between to work remotely and visit with friends and family. We have only really spent longer periods of time up there in the winter, recently, so it was nice to have summer weather to play golf, visit the beach, and eat all my favorite seasonal (sea)food that closes up shop in the winter.
It was also nice just to take a step back. It hit me on Sunday night that I didn't have any content planned to publish on Monday. We had a 7:00am tee time to play golf with my dad, and to be honest, I valued sleep over throwing out a post. It's the first time in a long time I've done that. I've been procrastinating writing recently, to the point where I'll stay up past midnight to get a post up that I just didn't want to write. I think that should tell me that the passion just isn't there like it used to be.
Throughout last week, I kept telling myself that I would write something, but I let it fall to the back-burner. Honestly, it really felt good.  I still love the photography and curating side of blogging, though. I took so. many. photos. this week of amazing places we went, things we ate, people we visited, and I'm hoping some new inspiration will get my gears turning.
I really don't want to give up this blog, but I have had the most terrible writer's block recently. I feel like I'm out of ideas. So I guess I'll turn to you, if you made it all the way through this post that went from originally being a week recap to a vent session (I applaud you and) I would love to know what you enjoy reading. Recipes, DIYs, Charleston must-dos, Charleston restaurant favorites, travel tips, what I'm shopping for, fashion?
Well, now I leave you with a couple photos from the last week and will be back on Wednesday (promise, this time!) to start sharing a whole bunch of adventures from last week's trip.

Girl, I am glad you took a step back from your blog and found some inspiration on your trip! Sometimes you need that and I totally feel you on the writers block lately. I love seeing your recipe posts and your posts about different places to explore around Charleston!

I always tell people that ask for ideas the same thing - you dont need ideas :) As a blogger, just blog. Whatever your day looks like - whatever you are feeling - whatever you are planning... just life. Blogging has turned into such a 'follow the rules" thing - do the post everyone else is doing. BE YOU - your life is interesting enough :)
... stepping off soap box... :) haha

What is that last photo of? I have blogging fatigue too these days. Write whatever motivates you to write!

Another fabulous trip! Isn't being able to work remotely one of the biggest blessings of modern technology?! I'm SO incredibly thankful to be working for a company who gets it again, as the last place I was at thought I was crazy for even suggesting it.

I've been having the same thing with my blog. I'm not giving it up, just posting when I can!

I've only found you recently, so I hope you don't give up! I love to read about Charleston and what you have been up to. The seasons are changing soon, maybe that will give you inspiration to take some beautiful fall photos!
