Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone!  I'm so happy the weekend is finally here, and life is slowly getting back to normal after all the storms.  Flooding will still be an issue around the rivers over the next week, though, as the tides stay high and all the water that flooded Columbia runs down the rivers into Charleston.

Today I thought I'd share a few things I'm loving.  Here's my favorite...

purchase.  I'm definitely sorry not sorry about this awesome Target find.  And bonus - it'll double as my Halloween costume!

book. I received this book from Blogging for Books, and it is the perfect coffee table addition.  I know it might sound weird to have a "cook book" as a coffee table book, but it's been such a conversation starter over the past couple of weeks when we have people over.  The photos of all of the dishes are beautiful, and I just love thumbing through the pages.  So far, I have made here mini crab cakes and cranberry sparklers.  Yes, there are even cocktails, and she tells you in which glass each drink should be served, too.  Even though I can't imagine throwing a whole party like Martha (the recipes seem to be very time and recipe intensive), I do love the idea of adding one or two of her recipes to my party plans.

night: poker night.  I finally learned how to play poker this week!  Somehow I made it through 26 full years without learning.  We ended up staying at Erika's until 12:30 on a work night... whoops!

manicure.  I finally purchased one of the Fall 2015 Essie colors  - In the Lobby.  Yes, I'm happy that I finally have something dark for fall, I thought that there would be more of a purple than red tint.  Do you think the website photo is deceiving?

animals.  Oh my gosh, I love "unlikely friends" photos and videos.  These photos were a very close second.

song. My "Taylor Swift Radio" Pandora station probably plays one T.Swift song an hour at this rate with how many Sara Bareilles songs I've thumbs up'd.  This is a close second.  Did anyone see she released a memoir?! So excited to read that!

look.  My boss bought me this awesome scarf and beautiful jewelry for my birthday.  She knows me so well and definitely bought them for me to wear with my most favorite pants ever... which I did.

pin.  My life goal is to combine different patterns with the right jewelry and have it look like this.  Any personal stylist takers?!

fall decor.  I finally took out everything pumpkin and lit my favorite cranberry orange candle.  We haven't added much from last year, but I really need to buy another bag of gourds this year.
  • While I keep in search for my perfectly dark fall polish color, anyone have a good one for me?
  • Any fun plans this weekend?

I like that Essie color and that Ariel getup is hilarious. I think Keith, while Ariel is his favorite, would have a few good laughs with it! Now you just need your hubby to be prince Eric!

So much to love in this! But you're right - that nail polish color is very deceptive! I have yet to find the fall colors in the Columbia stores. They're nowhere to be found!

Those Ariel footie pajamas are amazing!! :) I've had that Essie shade on my must have list since seeing their new fall collection online. It is so gorgeous! After seeing your mani I don't think I could hold out on purchasing it much longer! ;) Have a lovely weekend! xo - Brenda // Chatting Over Chocolate

Haha! The pajamas! Love it. My sister works at Target and come home with a Princess Leia one with buns on the hood and everything. Awesome.

Continue to stay dry and safe!

Love that Essie polish color! I always think it is impossible to order polish online because the colors just never seem to be exact!

Ooh great nail polish shade and I'm a smidge jealous of those cute bday gifts ;) Love essie but it chips so quickly (and of course fun dark shades show chipping even more). I'm a fan of the cheap stuff from CVS; not sure of the name but it's in bottles with black and white polka dot tops :)

I hope you are doing ok with all the flooding and hoping it stops soon!! Omg my sister got that mermaid onesie and it's adorable, I got the Care Bear onesie for myself :). That Essie polish color is adorable, I may just need to add it to my collection!

Happy Friday!

That fall color is beautiful! It actually looks pretty purple-y on my ipad screen, too....maybe that's just how it photographs, and then it's more red in person.

I usually go for Lincoln Park After Dark (toes only). Super dark purple, but I love it. I need to find some good ones too. My no chip just died today after doing a tad bit too much housework!

I love the earrings. I need to branch out with jewelry...

I like Essie's Cover-up. I got it in the Swap last year! It's a dark teal that can look almost black.

Merino cool is lighter but very fall appropriate.. Lincoln park after dark is a cult favorite... Essie's Vested Interest is a pretty green for Fall... A new one I tried is one from Mary Kay-Berry Stylish, also looks different on the nails than the bottle.. And an indie I love is Clark glitters full by loaded lacquer! Amazing!

Looks like you had a great birthday! Still love the fact that we share the same birthday :)

That polish is so pretty-- but I'm with you looks totally different on the website, I have i'm with the band and it doesn't look like the right color either. I usually google swatches to see the polishes actually applied- sometimes it helps. Love your fall decor and glad you had a good birthday!

Visiting from the link up! That nail polish is very pretty. I like it! Those Ariel Jammie's are adorable. I really wish we still had Target in Canada. Have a great week!
