Southern Proper Style on Kiawah Island

This post is sponsored by Southern Proper, but, as always on Borrowed Heaven, all opinions are my own.
With summer just around the corner, I am so happy that it's finally Kiawah season again.  What's Kiawah season, you ask?  It's the time of year when the weather in downtown Charleston doesn't drop below 90 when the sun is up, and tourists from all over the world are flocking to my Southern city.  Kiawah is a little treasure, located just over a half hour from Charleston, and it's one of the most serene and beautiful places I've ever seen.  The temperature on Kiawah is always a few degrees milder, and add in a cool sea breeze, and you have a perfect day!  My favorite afternoon is a winding drive all the way out to The Ocean Course on the East end of the island.  We take a stroll on the beach, sit on the grass and watch golfers finish their round of golf, and end with some cocktails and appetizers at the Ryder Cup Bar.

Now what to wear for a Kiawah afternoon?  I'm so excited to introduce y'all to Southern Proper today.  What began as a men's clothing line in Atlanta, specializing bow ties and neck ties, has evolved into a full-fledged brand with clothing for the whole family.  Based on the Southern pillars of style, tradition, and authenticity, Southern Proper uses hand-drawn designs and styles that combine heritage and fashion.  What I love most about Southern Proper is the attention to detail (like the scalloped collar on the Brooks popover I'm wearing) and the versatility of each item.
I had the opportunity to first meet the Southern Proper team at The Southern C Summit back in April.  On the first day of the conference, they sponsored a delicious welcome brunch at The Mills House hotel here in Charleston.  I loved chatting with their team about the new women's line and instantly knew that their colors, patterns, and traditional look perfectly matched my style.

Looking to shop the Southern Proper line for yourself?  You can find them across the South in over 250 specialty retail shops (see a full list here) as well as online.  As a special bonus for my readers, I picked out a few of my favorite pieces from Southern Proper's online shop to create a fantastic summertime beach bundle.  Together, all of these items are a $280 value, and they are sure to make your summer a little more stylish.  This giveaway includes: a navy Bluffton Tote, a "Go A Little Overboard" beach towelSoPro Sunglasses, and a Seersucker Coozie.  Enter using the Rafflecopter widget below - good luck!

Well, now you know my Kiawah secret (and, more importantly, what to wear)!  So next time you visit the Lowcountry, take a day trip down the live oak-lined drive to my favorite little island and beach.
