Here Come The Holidays

Celebrations big or small, we love having something for which to toast.  This week, it was successfully hosting our first Thanksgiving in our house.  The prepping, the shopping, the cooking, the cleaning: it was all worth it to have our family with us this year.  But now, I have to say, I'm exhausted (and sick of turkey).  This weekend will be all about the transition to Christmas, and I've been cooking up new recipes without turkey.
To make our everyday occasions a little more special, we have Sutter Home Family Vineyards.  Whether it's making my favorite shrimp scampi with Sutter Home Chardonnay or enjoying a glass of Sutter Home Pink Moscato while Christmas crafting, it's always the perfect time for a glass of wine!  They have 65 years of experience and have been family-owned for three generations.
I like to start small when it comes to holiday decorating.  Am I the only one who gets super overwhelmed fumbling through all those boxes packed not-so-well last January?  Right on top this year were the Christmas ornaments.  Without having a tree yet, I have a great use of the ornaments to add a little early holiday cheer to your table: a DIY wine glass centerpiece.
You will need: a base (I used a wood slice from the craft store), four wine glasses, and a variety of Christmas tree ornaments.
To assemble your centerpiece:
1. Turn three of the wine glassed upside down, onto the base, and place a few of the ornaments in them.
2. Arrange the three upside down wine glasses in a triangle, and stack the fourth wine glass on top.
3. Place more ornaments on the upside down glasses to create a design you love!
4. Find the perfect spot for your centerpiece to enjoy throughout the holidays!
I love the variety of Sutter Home Family Vineyards.  With our centerpiece in place, we had the perfect his-and-hers dinner.  I love the affordability of Sutter Home because Mike and I can each get a bottle that we enjoy, and with so many different varieties, there is something for every taste!
Cheers to the success of Thanksgiving and the start of the Christmas season!
