Wanderlust Wednesday: 2016 Travel Plans

After seeing a few blogger friends post about their plans this year like Kate and Macy, I thought it would be fun to share our own plans this year!  We are beyond excited for Mike's sister who is getting married this year, so you know a few flights to New England are in the works, plus I have a couple business trips that Mike is tagging along for!  Thanks to Macy, we also finally got a Southwest credit card, and our goal is to make it to "companion level" so that one of us can fly free every place we go next year - wish us luck!

But before I begin, I also realized that I never recapped 2015 in any way (blogger fail), so here are a few of the highlights: weekend in Disney, Dallas for work, day trips to watch two golf tournaments (The Masters and The Players), our honeymoon in May to the Bahamas (we even swam with pigs!), a summer weekend in New England, two NFL games (Atlanta and Charlotte), fall weekends in New England and Delaware, Thanksgiving on Hilton Head Island, and finishing off the year back with family and friends in the Northeast.
Now for 2016:
January: Well, it's already over, but we didn't leave Charleston - haha!
February: Disney World for the Princess Half Marathon weekend!  Then, back to Charleston for a day before we keep heading north to Myrtle Beach for a work trip and golf.
March: One of our former roommates is getting married in Boston, so we are making it into a weekend in the city!
April: This is the month when golf really comes back, so I hope we will get to either The Masters in Augusta, GA again this year or The Heritage on Hilton Head Island, which takes place the weekend after.
May: Denver!  I have a conference for work, and Mike is tagging along.  We cannot wait to go to Coors Field and Red Rocks - other suggestions, and are there any fellow bloggers out there?
June: Up to New England for my sister-in-law's bachelorette and shower!
July: We'll be in the Northeast for almost two weeks around the wedding with adventures that will include: NYC to see Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden, Cooperstown, NY for my 28th Baseball Hall of Fame Induction, and Central Massachusetts for the wedding!
August-November: Staying in Charleston after our whirlwind first half of the year!
December: Annual trek back up to the Northeast for the holidays!

Phew! It's going to be a few busy months, but we are so excited!  Anyone have an suggestions for a fairly short Memorial Day trip or other weekend adventures around South Carolina?

Linking up with KerriKate, and Emily for Wanderlust Wednesday!

Looks like lots of fun places! Sounds like you had an amazing 2015 too!

Y'all will need a car to get to Red Rocks if you're staying in Denver. I would suggest keeping the car and venturing away from town to explore along the Front Range. Denver also has a huge microbrewery scene.

Look for my suggestions on Denver soon! Just haven't had time to sit and email yet.

What did you guys do while in Dallas? We go in March and currently plan on the six flags there, seeing southfork ranch, maybe the cowboys stadium and of course our beloved Blues taking on the stars!

You swam with the pigs, too?! Where was your film crew?! Haha.

Okay, you'll have to let me know how you like the Southwest credit card. I have the American Express Delta card now, but can't decide if something else would be better for us.

You have a ton of fun travel ahead of you! Do you watch the Bachelor?? They swam with the pigs in the Bahamas on Monday's episode. It was hilarious!

Ahh so many fun vacation plans to look forward to! It's always such a bonus when you can turn a work trip into a mini vacation- especially if you get to bring Mike!

I live in Myrtle Beach. Do you have any free time while you're here? It would be so nice to meet you for coffee or something. Let me know if you have any time.

Sounds like you already have some really fun trips planned! I visited my dad in Colorado over the holidays and loved it, so pretty! He lives on the other side of Boulder though so all I saw of Denver was the drive to and from the airport haha

Sounds like quite a year of travel! My suggestion in Denver is breakfast at Snooze. I am going to a cabin in Topton, NC for Memorial day, not sure if that is close enough to qualify as a short trip for you. Hiking and whitewater rafting and campfires!

You have so many awesome trips happening this year! How perfect for that Southwest card ;) The Red Rocks in Denver are amazing, I think Garden of the Gods is closest to the city. We were supposed to go in April, but had to cancel because of Dave's surgery. I can't wait to see all of your recap posts!

That's SO awesome that you're doing the Princess half-marathon! I have plans to do one of the shorter races associated with it...maybe next year?

Sounds like so much fun! One thing I miss about living on the mainland is the convenience of traveling to other states. Looking forward to hearing about your trips!

Love & Aloha

Well I'm 90 minutes south of Denver :)
I highly recommend Union State and The Crawford Hotel. It's a block from Coors Field.
