Disney Favorites Recap

Well, it's been a week since we got back from Disney World, and oh man, am I already missing it.  Mike and I were down there for the Princess Half Marathon weekend, and I'll be sharing all of the running fun on Friday.  Today is all about our days in the parks.  In addition to running 19.3 miles in about 27 hours, during our 6 days in Florida, we visited all the parks, played mini golf, and even had a triple date with the lovely Kate and Emily!  I could share photos for days of our trip and parkhopping back and forth across the four parks, but instead, I've decided to share just a few favorite highlights today.

When we arrived at Disney, the first thing we did was park at the transportation hub to spend our first day at both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom.  We love riding fun Disney transportation, like the monorail, any chance we can get.  First, we headed to Epcot for a few drinks around the world - always our favorite.  I was so excited to see that many of the topiaries were already out for the Flower and Garden Festival.  We've never been for this spring event, but are hoping to go back in 2017 for it and the Star Wars - Dark Side runDisney weekend!
On our second (and fourth and fifth - haha) day, we went to Hollywood Studios.  Of course, Toy Story Mania is always the best (I won all but once), but one of the things we were most excited about were the new expanded Star Wars areas.  All of the props and new videos were really cool, and of course, you know we had to stop for a photo with our favorite wookie.
We made sure to spend ample time in Hollywood Studios since we aren't sure what it'll look like next time we're there.  Some of our favorites have already closed: the Backlot Tour, Osbourne Lights, giant Sorcerer's Hat, and American Idol (well, not a favorite, but it's still closed), and many others will be closing soon: Lights, Motors, Action stunt show, Honey I Shrunk the Kids move play space, and even the Earrfel Tower.  I'm not very good with change, but I do look forward to seeing the expanded Star Wars and Toy Story lands.
At night, lights and fireworks shows in Disney are always my favorite, so you know FastPass+ stops to see Fantasmic and IllumiNations were both a must!
There you have it - our favorites!  Like I said, tomorrow I'll be back to share all about our memories from the runDisney portion of the trip!
Lastly, I'll leave you with a few snaps from each park.  Seriously, I love all the geofilters in the different parks (nerd alert).

Epcot and drinks around the world is SO much fun. The last time we were there it was the food and wine festival so it was super crowded but I want to go back!

DISNEY!!! I totally forgot you were going there for the run. I don't like change either and all the changes at Hollywood Studios are freaking me out. I'm sure they will al end up being wonderful, but still. Come on, Disney. My brother has worked at Disney for the past nine years and he just made the last minute decision that he is leaving. Freddie and I have been frantically trying to figure out how we can squeeze in one last trip before the end of April, buuuuuut doesn't look good. Boo!

Looks like you guys hit up all the good stuff! Can't wait to hear all about the run.

Oh how I love Disney! The drinks and riding Soarin and Test Track at Epcot, the safari and Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom, and just the overall magic at Magic Kingdom. So glad we got to meet you while you were here <3

I'm glad to know Fantasmic is still there. I LOVE that show - its my favorite. & of course that Beauty & the beast is still there. Man, they're making TONS of changes, aren't they. I always loved Honey I Shrunk the Kids play ground but that movie is so old, i'm sure kids dont even have a clue that's a real movie.

It looks like you had so much fun during your trip! It makes me sad that some of the staples in Hollywood Studios are shutting down too, but I think the new Star Wars area will be awesome!

Ahhh this is making me so excited for my Disney trip in June!! Unpopular opinion: Hollywood Studios is my *least* favorite park and I'm so excited to see some of those attractions GO. Haha. I can't wait to see some of the new stuff that'll be opened by the time we get there, like the night show at Animal Kingdom and the new Star Wars show. Plus there's also the fact that we're getting engagement photos taken there, probably at Epcot! Yay! :)

What a fun trip! I have to say that I am SUPER jealous that you got so long in Disney. Although I know that it was hard work with the race, so congrats lady, it was definitely well deserved.

This are much different than when we visited in 2007. However, Star Wars is a pretty good trade off. We are hoping to visit soon!

I LOVED following along with your snapchats. It looks like y'all had a blast. I was really sad when MGM turned into Hollywood studios and now I am even more sad that it is changes again. I'm sure it will be really cool, but I'm not good with change, either. Can't wait to read more about your trip!
