Easter Weekending

I hope everyone had a happy Easter!  We had a nice, relaxing weekend after my surgery, which was perfect because it has not stopped raining in Charleston since Friday.  I've been lucky to have the best nurse (Mike) who has stayed on top of everything, driven me to all my appointments, and even bought me tons of ice cream.  (He says all surgeries deserve endless ice cream, and who am I to object?)
As for my retina detachment surgery itself, everything went well, but recovery has just been a bit slower than anticipated.  The surgeon fixed all the holes in my eye and inserted a gas bubble to help everything heal.  My depth perception has been severely affected, and all I can see is light and dark out of that eye, so my other eye has to strain like crazy to compensate.  I've been getting tired really easily and sleeping a lot throughout the day.  Over the next week, the gas bubble will reside, but luckily, in the meantime, I have these two to keep me company while I listen to way too much SVU and Food Network.
Don't worry, I have made it out of the house all of twice.  On Thursday night, I went with Erika (who also gave me those beautiful orange tulips) to the Charleston Blog Society pre-opening party at Arhaus.  This place was amazing, and I cannot wait to go back when I can actually see more of their interior design work.
We also went to Easter Sunday Service yesterday morning at St. Matthew's.  We had never been there before, but I can definitely see us going back.  Easter was just the two of us, but we did have a nice dinner yesterday, cooking one of our absolute favorites, lasagna rolls.  They were so good!

Oh wow, Arhaus is gorgeous! Definitely need to check it out the next time I'm in Charleston! Sorry to hear your recovery hasn't been going as quickly as you'd like. At least you get unlimited ice cream! :) <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

Glad you have a good nurse who is loading up the ice cream for you :)
Hope that healing just picks up for you. I hate when my vision is off a little.

St Matthew's is my favorite church in all of Charleston! If we lived there, that's definitely the one that we would join. Glad that things are going well with your recovery - hope you're back to 100% soon! In the mean time, enjoy alllllll the ice cream :)

I like the way your husband thinks, lots and lots of ice cream! Hopefully you'll make a speedy recovery, but no matter what it looks like you have great company during the recovery process, including some Law & Order SVU!

Although slow at least your eyes are healing!

Ice cream, SVU and food network sounds like the best way to recover.
