Weekend in a Nutshell

Or should I say Hornet's Nest... anyone guess where I was this weekend? If you follow me on snapchat (megatronnn27) you might already know - Charlotte, NC! Besides a very quick day in the city last fall for a Panthers game and every layover ever growing up on the way to Florida, this was my first real time I've spent exploring the city.  One of my former Connecticut coworkers now lives in Charlotte.  Of the four of us ladies who worked in that office when I did, three of us now live in South Carolina - crazy, right?!  Well, the three of us new Southerners finally convinced the Connecticut hold out to visit the land of winter warmth, and we could not have chosen a better girls weekend - low 80s and sunny!
In addition to the obvious girl talk, we had a great time exploring the city.  We saw the whole city on the Funny Bus - a city tour hosted by a comedian, found a new favorite craft beer with Heist Brewery's Beyond the Pale grapefruit and tangerine APA, and went to a delicious dinner at the Fish Market in Baxter Town Center - scallops with bacon crab risotto - holy yum!
Mike and I are already planning our next trip back (probably for a Panthers preseason game!) that will definitely include the Nascar Hall of Fame, a tour on the Trolley Pub, and a trip to Amelie's bakery!  Anyone else from Charlotte or have ideas for the best things to do?

Linking up with Biana for Weekending!

I went to charlotte years ago and had a VIP experience at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the NASCAR HOF and made sure to check out Dale Jr's headquarters. Quaker Steak has some great eats and I can't really remember the rest, ha!
